Scientific Name: Vulpes vulpes
Diet: Omnivores: Small mammals, many invertebrates, and birds, as well as fruit, carrion and scavenged items.
Habitat: Wide range including forest, tundra, prairie, desert, mountains, farmlands, and urban areas. They prefer mixed vegetation communities, such as edge habitats and mixed scrub and woodland.
Fun Fact: Red foxes may leave bones and other objects around the den as toys for their young (kits).
